Good apple pies are a considerable part of our domestic happiness.

...or would we be better served by Jonathan Swift's deathless aphorism?
 Promises and Pie Crusts are Made to be Broken."

Some might prefer another truism:

Events of the day:

• Raffle of a beautiful, handmade, queen-size quilt.
  Display past years' quilts.
• More than 30 New England craft vendors  
• Lots and lots of home-made pies  
• Children’s activities  
• Food and fun
